U.S. President Donald Trump announced a breakthrough in trade agreement with the UK, with the latter expanding market access for U.S. imports. The DJIA surged up to 659 points, peaking at 41,773, but closed with a gain of 254 points or 0.6% at 41,368. The Nasdaq rose 189 points or 1.1% to 17,928, while the S&P 500 gained 32 points or 0.6% to 5,663.
Boeing (BA) closed up 3.3% after securing a USD10 billion aircraft order from British Airways.
Tech stocks saw moderated gains. Tesla (TSLA.US) rallied 3.1%. Alphabet (GOOG.US) climbed nearly 2% after clarifying that search engine usage, including on Apple devices, continued to grow overall. Amazon (AMZN.US) and Microsoft (MSFT.US) each lifted over 1%. Apple (AAPL.US), Meta (META.US), and Nvidia (NVDA.US) rose less than 1%.
